Ms. Husic is dedicated to immigrant rights and personally understands the challenges that immigrants face in the United States. In her early teen years, she herself immigrated to the United States as a refugee.
Before opening her immigration law firm, she practiced family based immigration and criminal law.
Ms. Husic graduated from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, CA. During her last year in law school, she had the honor of being accepted as a Judicial Intern at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), in The Hague, Netherlands.
During her undergraduate studies at San Francisco State University, she completed her junior year at a study abroad program in Florence, Italy.
Ms. Husic is multilingual and speaks Bosnian, Croatian, and Serbian with native proficiency.
She is an active member of American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Santa Cruz County Bar Association (SCCBA), and the Santa Cruz County Criminal Defense bar. She is on the Board of Women Lawyers of Santa Cruz County (WLSCC) and the President of The Advocates, a Santa Cruz County group.
Ms. Husic is admitted to the State Bar of California and the Ninth Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals.
